"This book uses a lot of symbolism and iconography that has nothing to do with the subject matter covered. The author also doesn't offer a bibliography or other resources with which to check their work or supplement your own study. The section pertaining to "spells" gives no explanation as to why the items listed should be used, what the end result of the spell should actually be, can encourage animal cruelty, and definitely encourages the desecration of graves. The graves of random strangers.
The author uses a tone that implies that they want to present this subject as a neutral party, but everything else about the book makes it clear that is not the case.
After reading this book, I do not trust that I have gained an objective or educational viewpoint of the subject matter discussed. In fact, I feel I have learned nothing of value.
In short, this book presents itself as an educational tool for those looking for more insight into otherwise unexplored avenues of witchcraft. It is actually a poorly researched book you can add to your shelf to add an "evil" or "black magic" aesthetic. And honestly if you're looking for that, there are far more aesthetically pleasing books out there."
